It contains Chloramphenicol as an active agent that acts by binding to the 50S ribosomal subunit of bacteria. It interferes with protein synthesis and hence plays a crucial role in preventing bacterial replication and growth.
Bacterial eye infection is a condition in which harmful bacteria enter your eye and start to multiply, causing infection and related symptoms like redness, itching, irritation, and watery eyes.
No, do not stop taking Aciphenicol and complete the full course of treatment even if you feel better. Your symptoms may improve before the infection is completely cured.
Usually, Aciphenicol starts working soon after taking it. However, it may take some days to kill all the harmful bacteria and make you feel better.
Inform your doctor if you dont feel better after finishing the full course of treatment. Also, inform him if your symptoms are getting worse while using this medicine.
