Burnheal Plus Ointment is a combination of two medicines: Sulfadiazine and Chlorhexidine Gluconate. Sulfadiazine is an antibiotic. It stops bacteria from producing folic acid, a nutrient required for bacterial multiplication. Chlorhexidine Gluconate is an antiseptic and disinfectant which works by binding strongly with skin. It kills infectious microorganisms and effectively cleans out cuts, wounds and burns to prevent them from getting infected.
No, do not stop taking Burnheal Plus and complete the full course of treatment even if you feel better. Your symptoms may improve before the infection is completely cured.
Usually, Burnheal Plus starts working soon after taking it. However, it may take some days to kill all the harmful bacteria and make you feel better.
