Dronim 80mg/100mg Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Drotaverine and Nimesulide, which relieves abdominal pain. Drotaverine is an anti-spasmodic medicine which relieves spasms associated with smooth muscles. Nimesulide is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). It works by blocking the release of certain chemical messengers that cause pain and inflammation (redness and swelling).
Keep this medicine in the packet or the container it came in, tightly closed. Store it according to the instructions mentioned on the pack or label. Dispose of the unused medicine. Make sure it is not consumed by pets, children and other people.
No, taking a higher than the recommended dose of Dronim can lead to increased chances of side effects. If you experience increased severity of your symptoms, that are not relieved by the recommended doses, please consult your doctor for re-evaluation.
Dronim is usually used for short term and can be discontinued if there is no pain. However, it should be continued if your doctor told you to do so.
Dronim contains nimesulide. This medicine is known to cause harm to the liver especially in the doses above the recommended level.
