ORS Orange Powder 4.2 gm is a combination of four drugs, namely: Sodium chloride, potassium chloride, dextrose, and sodium citrate. Sodium Chloride replenishes sodium loss due to dehydration, it maintains osmotic pressure and fluid balance. Potassium Chloride replenishes potassium loss and prevents hypokalemia. Dextrose provides an energy source and facilitates sodium and water absorption in the intestine. Sodium Citrate gets converted into bicarbonate corrects metabolic acidosis and balances pH.
