This formula is mainly prescribed in case of throat and lung infection, ear and sinus infection, soft tissue infection, urinary tract infection, skin infection, dental infection, and joint and bone infection
How Megamentin Tablet 6s works
This medicine is made from a mixture of three medicines: Clavulanic Acid, Amoxicillin, and Lactobacillus. Amoxycillin shows bactericidal action (kills bacteria) by destroying the outer/protective layer of bacteria. Clavulanic acid appears to work by inhibiting the beta-lactamase enzyme. Clavulanic acid is necessary because the beta lactamase enzyme has the ability to prevent bacteria by destroying the efficacy of amoxicillin. Lactobacillus helps maintain gut health by restoring gut bacteria that are imbalanced due to antibiotics and this imbalance may create gastrointestinal issues and diarrhoea.
