Some blood pressure medicines (including water pills like hydrochlorothiazide) may affect a man’s ability to gain or maintain an erection (erectile dysfunction). However, it is thought that other blood pressure medicines can actually improve erectile dysfunction. If you are worried or notice some changes, talk to your doctor. There is no firm evidence which suggests any effect on the fertility of either men or women with the use of Olmo-H.
Lifestyle changes play a major role in keeping you healthy if you are taking Olmo-H. Avoid taking excess salt in your diet and find ways to reduce or manage stress in your life. Practice yoga or meditation or take up a hobby. Ensure that you have a sound sleep every night as this also helps to reduce stress levels and helps to keep your blood pressure normal. Stop smoking and alcohol consumption as this helps in lowering your blood pressure and preventing heart problems. Exercise regularly and take a balanced diet that includes whole grains, fresh fruits, vegetables and fat-free products. Consult your doctor if you need any further guidance to get the maximum benefit of Olmo-H and to keep yourself healthy.
The serious side effects of Olmo-H include skin rash or itchiness, painful joints, fast heart beat, shortness of breath or tightness in the chest. Serious side effects may also include aching, tender or weak muscles not caused by exercise and swelling of the hands, feet or ankles. Olmo-H may also cause symptoms that may indicate high potassium levels in the blood, such as nausea, diarrhea, muscle weakness and change in heart rhythm. If you experience any of these symptoms, call your doctor immediately.
Your doctor may suggest to take your first dose before bedtime, considering that this medicine can make you feel dizzy. After the very first dose you can take Olmo-H at any time of the day. It is important to take this medicine at the same time every day.
No, Olmo-H does not cause weight gain. However, in very rare cases, chronic diarrhea with substantial weight loss may occur. If a patient develops diarrhea while taking Olmo-H and no other cause of diarrhea can be deduced, then the doctor may advise the patient to discontinue it immediately and recommend another medicine.
You may notice a decrease in your blood pressure effectively within 2 weeks of starting Olmo-H. However, it may take about 8 weeks to see the full benefits of this medicine.
You may have to take Olmo-H life long. Olmo-H controls high blood pressure but does not cure it. Do not stop taking it even if your blood pressure is well controlled. Olmo-H is generally considered safe to be taken for long term. In some cases, long-term use may adversely affect the kidneys and the kidneys may not function as they should. Therefore, your doctor may prescribe regular blood tests to check urea, creatinine and potassium levels to keep a track of how well your kidneys are working.
Your doctor may advise you to stop taking Olmo-H 24 hours before surgery. This is because Olmo-H can further reduce your blood pressure when used with anesthetics. So, inform your doctor that you are taking Olmo-H if you will be given general anesthetics (medicines that put you to sleep) or are scheduled to have any surgery.
Yes, the use of Olmo-H can make you feel dizzy. This may occur when you suddenly get up from a lying or sitting position. To lower the chance of feeling dizzy or passing out, rise slowly if you have been sitting or lying down.
