Pantocid 40 mg Tablet is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) commonly prescribed to manage conditions associated with excessive stomach acid production. How P2I Tablet works

P2I Tablet is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI). It works by inhibiting the enzyme in the stomach lining that produces acid. It prevent symptoms like heartburn and prevent ulcers.

How To Use P2I Tablet

  • Pan D is to be taken empty stomach.
  • To take Pan D, swallow the tablet one hour before a meal, preferably in the morning.

What is the best time to take P2I?

Usually, P2I is taken once a day, first thing in the morning. If you take P2I twice a day, take 1 dose in the morning and 1 dose in the evening. The tablets should be swallowed whole (remember not be chewed or crushed) and taken at least 1 hour before a meal with some water.

Can I take antacids along with P2I?

Yes, you can take antacids along with P2I. Take it 2 hours before or after you take P2I.

Is P2I safe?

Yes, P2I is relatively safe. Most of the people who take P2I do not get a side effect. It is advised to be taken as directed by the doctor for maximum benefits.

What are the long term side effects of P2I?

If P2I is used for more than 3 months, certain long term side effects may be seen. The most important of these is low magnesium levels in your blood which may make you feel tired, confused, dizzy, shaky or dizzy. You may also have muscle twitches or irregular heartbeat. If the use is further prolonged for more than a year, you may have an increased risk of bone fractures, stomach infections and vitamin B12 deficiency. Yes, it is safe to take painkillers along with P2I. P2I prevents acidity and stomach ulcers associated with the intake of painkillers. P2I is taken 1 hour before a meal. On the other hand, painkillers are usually taken with, or after a meal to avoid stomach upset.

Is a single dose of P2I sufficient?

No, a single dose may not be sufficient. However, with only a few doses of P2I you may get relief with the symptoms. However, if need arises, such as for treating peptic ulcer disease and Zollinger Ellison syndrome (ZES), P2I may be prescribed for a long term duration as well. How long does it take for P2I to work?

You should start to feel better within 2 to 3 days. It may take up to 4 weeks for P2I to work properly so you may still have some symptoms during this time.
