This medicine belongs to the group of antileptic drugs. It effectively manages epilepsy in children and adults. This medicine manages bipolar disorders.
It contains two active ingredients valproic acid and sodium valproate which reduces the degradation of GABA (chemical messenger) in the central nervous system and increases its level. It reduces high-frequency neuronal activities by blocking certain ion channels in the brain and ultimately relieves seizure activities.
- Take the medicine as per the doctor's advise.
- You can take the medicine with or after having a meal.
- Swallow it as whole with a glass full of water without crushing and breaking it.
- Follow the dose and duration as prescribed by a doctor.
- This medicine is not suitable for patients who are suffering from liver disease or have a family history of liver problems, pancreatic disease, urea cycle disorder, or clotting disorders.
