Abdrot 80mg Tablet works by blocking an enzyme called phosphodiesterase 4 (PDE4), which usually breaks down a molecule called cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP). By inhibiting PDE4, drotaverine increases the levels of cAMP, leading to relaxation of smooth muscles. This action helps relieve muscle spasms. Some research suggests that elevating cAMP levels may have potential benefits in preventing brain tumors, adding an interesting aspect to the drug's effects.
