Sertaconazole is an active constituent that inhibits ergosterol synthesis (a crucial component in the formation of cell membranes by fungus). This disturbance increases cell membrane permeability due to which components inside the membrane start leaking out and ultimately cause cell death and infection resolution. It contains beclomethasone steroid which treats swelling, itching, and redness in the skin by blocking the release of chemical messengers (prostaglandins) produced by the hair.
