Guaifenesing works as an expectorant which provides passage for the airways and remove coughing and clears the airways. Terbutaline has bronchodilator properties which make the airways muscles relax and inhibit the release of chemical substances that may cause inflammation. These three compositions provide better relief from cough that cause bronchospasm.
A wet cough is also known as a productive cough that produces mucus. It provides the feeling that something gets stuck in chest or back to the throat. However, a cough is not enough to take it out and provide a better feeling. Sometimes, it may also bring mucus into the mouth which is also responsible for spasm or produce constriction in the airway and makes hard to breath.
