Teneligliptin is an oral anti-diabetic medication used to manage Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus. It belongs to the DPP-4 (Dipeptidyl Peptidase-4) inhibitor class, which helps improve blood sugar control in adults by enhancing insulin secretion.
Teneligliptin works by inhibiting the DPP-4 enzyme, which increases the levels of incretin hormones. These hormones stimulate insulin release in response to meals and reduce glucagon secretion, thereby lowering blood sugar levels.
Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus: A chronic condition where the body becomes resistant to insulin or doesn’t produce enough, leading to elevated blood sugar levels.
