The medicine belongs to a group of drugs called beta-blockers. The medicine treats and manages elevated blood pressure (hypertension), irregular heart rhythm, and angina (intense chest pain).
The drug should administered cautiously among the patients suffering liver disease; drug adjustment may required.
It is probably considered to be safe to use by kidney patients.
One should avoid consuming alcohol while taking the medicine.
It may induce dizziness and blurred vision that may make you feel dizzy and sleepy.
It should not be used by pregnant women as it may harm developing baby.
It is probably unsafe to use while breastfeeding as it may pass through breast milk.
Metoprolol tartrate shows its activity by inhibiting beta-1 adrenergic receptors which helps to alleviate the heart rate and cardiac output and brings the blood pressure down by blocking stimulations of the heart.
High Blood Pressure- also known as hypertension in which blood pressure becomes high when the force of blood pushing against your artery walls is consistently too high. Over time this can damage your arteries and can lead to serious complications like heart attack and stroke.
