Virafin 100mg Injection consists of the active substance Interferon alfa-2b. It is used in the treatment of a wide range of diseases, including cancers (chronic myelogenous leukemia, hairy cell leukemia, malignant melanoma, follicular lymphoma, multiple myeloma, and carcinoid tumour) and viral infections (chronic hepatitis B, or C).
It is similar to a protein that your body naturally produces called interferon. It modifies the response of the body’s immune system to help fight infections and severe diseases.
Your doctor may want you to drink extra fluids to help prevent low blood pressure. Inform your doctor about any medications you are taking or have taken before the treatment.
There is limited information available on the use of Virafin 100mg Injection in patients with liver disease. Please consult your doctor.
Virafin 100mg Injection is probably unsafe to use in patients with kidney disease and should be avoided. Please consult your doctor.
