Introduction to

ALBENDAZOLE is a member of the 'anthelmintic' class of antiparasitic medications used to treat parasite worm illnesses such as neurocysticercosis (an infection brought on by the pig tapeworm) and cystic hydatid disease (an infection brought on by the dog tapeworm). Furthermore, illnesses brought on by flukes, roundworms, hookworms, threadworms, whipworms, pinworms, and other parasites are treated with ALBENDAZOLE.

Albendazole is used to treat worm-related illnesses. To cause the worm to run out of energy and perish, it prevents it from absorbing sugar, or glucose. This medication can only be obtained with a prescription from your physician.

  • Take it Albendazole as directed.
  • Do not chew or break open the pill or capsule swallow it whole with a glass of water.
  • Depending on your medical condition, you should take Albendazole from your doctor for the whole suggested duration.

  • While using ALBENDAZOLE, you may bleed or bruise easily. If you observe unusual bleeding or bruising, see your doctor.
  • During ALBENDAZOLE treatment, routine monitoring of liver function and blood cell count is indicated.
  • Maintaining good hygiene and avoiding contact with sick individuals can help reduce the risk of infection caused by ALBENDAZOLE.

  • Additionally, illnesses brought on by flukes, roundworms, hookworms, threadworms, whipworms, pinworms, and other parasites are treated with ALBENDAZOLE.

Before consumption, wash all fruits and vegetables well. Reheat or wash food that has been sitting about for a while. Steer clear of soil that might be tainted with excrement. Foods that have been left out in the open at markets should be avoided as they may be contaminated. Sip purified, boiled water.

Albact is used for the treatment of pinworms (Enterobius vermicolaris). Albact is active against the larval and the adult stages. Consult your doctor before taking any medicines for worm infections.

What is Albact used for?

Albact is used for the treatment of infections caused by helminths (worms) like Enterobius vermicularis (pinworm/threadworm), Ascaris lumbricoides (roundworm), Ancylostoma duodenale and Necator americanus (hookworms), Trichuris trichiura (whipworm), Strongyloides stercoralis, animal hookworm larvae causing cutaneous larva migrans, and Opisthorchis viverrini (liver flukes) and Clonorchis sinensis. It is also indicated for the treatment of Hymenolepis nana and Taenia spp. (tapeworm) infections and has shown good activity against anaerobic protozoa like Giardia lamblia and Trichomonas vaginalis. Please consult your doctor before taking any treatment for worms as there could be many worms against which Albact would not be effective.

Does Albact kill eggs?

Albact does not kill the eggs of the worms. It acts against the larva and the adult form of the worms.

Does Albact treat Giardia?

Albact can be used to treat giardiasis. It has shown activity against anaerobic protozoa like Giardia lamblia and Trichomonas vaginalis. Please consult your doctor if you think you are suffering from giardiasis as it requires proper diagnosis and treatment.

Is Albact an over the counter product?

Albact is not an over the counter (OTC) product. It is a prescription medicine.

Does Albact cause diarrhoea?

Diarrhoea is an uncommon side effect of Albact. Please consult your doctor if you experience diarrhea after taking Albact.

Is Albact an antibiotic?
