Althrocin Tablet belongs to a group of medicines known as Macrolide antibiotics.
It is an antibiotic medicine that helps treat bacterial infections of the eye, ear, nose, throat, lungs, teeth, skin, and urinary tract. Also given as an alternative therapy to penicillin allergy, Althrocin Tablet may help treat certain specific infections such as pertussis (whooping cough) and diphtheria.
Bacterial infection is a condition in which bacteria grows in the body and cause infection. It can target any body part and multiple very quickly. The medicine slows the growth or sometimes kill the harmful bacteria by preventing production of proteins required by the bacteria for its survival.
Althrocin Tablet does not treat a viral infection like flu or a common cold.
The side effects should recede on their own within a few days, if persist then consult your doctor.
Althrocin 125mg Tablet is safe to use in patients with kidney disease. No dose adjustment of Althrocin 125mg Tablet is recommended.
Althrocin 125mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Althrocin 125mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Althrocin 125mg Tablet is an antibiotic. It works by interfering with the synthesis of essential proteins required by bacteria to perform important functions. By doing so, it stops the infection-causing bacteria from growing further and prevents the infection from spreading.
