Amoxycillin is an antibiotic which kills bacteria by preventing them from forming their own protective covering. Carbocisteine is a mucolytic which thins and loosens mucus (phlegm), making it easier to cough out. Addition of Carbocisteine enhances the antibacterial effect of Amoxycillin.
