This formula contains Recombinant Human Erythropoietin Alfa. It is an erythropoiesis-stimulating agent used to treat anemia caused by cancer chemotherapy and by taking medicines to treat HIV. The drug stimulates the production of red blood cells and aids in improving oxygen transport in the body.
Epoetin Alfa mimics the erythropoietin hormone normally produced by the kidneys. It binds with erythropoietin receptors present on progenitor cells in the bone marrow and stimulates the proliferation and differentiation of red blood cell precursors. It improves oxygen delivery in the tissues by increasing the red blood cell count.
This drug is administered by healthcare professionals; so no chance of missing the dose.
Anemia is a health condition in which red blood cells or hemoglobin are not present in sufficient amount in the blood due to which one may experience weakness, fatigue, and shortness of breath due to inadequate oxygen supply in the body.
