Cefepime has the potential to cause neurotoxicity, particularly in patients with kidney problems In these cases, dose adjustments could be required and it is suggested to monitor for neurologic symptoms like seizures or encephalopathy. The use of antibiotics, such as Cefepime, can lead to an overgrowth of Clostridioides difficile bacteria, which could trigger severe diarrhea and colitis. Any diarrhea that occurs during or post treatment should be considered as a possible sign of C difficile infection. Cefepime's absorption could be decreased through interactions with iron supplements and antacids. If either iron supplements or antacids are required, make sure they're taken at least 2 hours before or after Cefepime.

In case Cefepime is forgotten one time, take it as soon as you remember. If the next dose time is nearly up, miss out on the forgotten one and continue with the normal routine.
