Introduction to

This medicine reduces the amount of acid produced in the stomach. 

  • It is helpful in treating conditions caused by excessive acid in the stomach such as indigestion and heartburn. 
  • This medicine is very effective in preventing and treating reflux disease, stomach ulcers, and some rare conditions.

It is a histamine H2 receptor blocker that alleviates the secretion of acid in the stomach and helps to relieve the symptoms of heartburn and indigestion.

  • Take this medication as prescribed by doctor.
  • Typically, one tablet is taken once daily, half an hour earlier a meal.
  • Without chewing and crushing, swallow the tablet whole with water.
  • Continue taking the medicine regularly to prevent problems that may occur in near future.

  • Discuss openly with your doctor if you have or had anyb kidney or liver-related disease.
  • Disclose all the medications to the doctor you are taking before starting the treatment.
  • Avoid alcohol while taking the drug as it may rise the amount of acid in the stomach.

  • Prevent acid reflux and heartburn.
  • Treat intestinal and stomach ulcer.
  • Relief from gastric ulcer caused by NSAIDS.

Can I take alcohol with M Fast?

Alcohol does not interfere with the working of M Fast. But, you should avoid taking alcohol as it may further damage the stomach, delaying your recovery.

Is M Fast safe for long-term use?

There is limited data available on whether M Fast can be used for a long term or not, but it is a relatively safe medicine. You should take it for the duration advised by your doctor. Do not take over-the-counter M Fast for longer than 2 weeks unless advised by your doctor.

How long does it take for M Fast to start working?

M Fast starts working as fast as 15 minutes from when it is given. Its effect is seen to last all day or all night.

What is the difference between M Fast and omeprazole?

M Fast and Omeprazole belong to different group of medicines. While M Fast belongs to histamine H2 antagonists group, Omeprazole belongs to proton pump inhibitors group. These medicines (M Fast and Omeprazole) work by reducing the amount of acid made by the stomach, to give relief of symptoms and allow healing to take place.

Can I take M Fast empty stomach?

M Fast may be taken with or without food. It can be taken once daily before bedtime or twice daily in the morning and before bedtime, as recommended.

What are the dos and don’ts while taking M Fast?

Avoid taking aspirin and other painkillers used to treat arthritis, period pain or headache. These medicines may irritate the stomach and make your condition worse. Contact your doctor who may suggest other medicines. Avoid coffee, tea, cocoa and cola drinks because these contain ingredients that may irritate your stomach. Eat smaller, more frequent meals. Eat slowly and chew your food carefully. Try not to rush while having meals. You should stop or cut down on smoking.

Is M Fast effective?

M Fast would be effective only if used for the right indication in the dose and for the duration as advised by the doctor. In case you do not find any change in your condition while taking this medicine, please talk to your doctor. Do not change the dose or stop taking the medicine without consulting your doctor.
