Metoclopramide works by blocking dopamine receptors in the brain and gut, which helps to reduce nausea and vomiting. It also enhances the motility of the upper gastrointestinal tract, facilitating faster gastric emptying.
Nausea and Vomiting: Symptoms often caused by motion sickness, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, or surgery. Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD): A chronic condition where stomach acid frequently flows back into the esophagus, causing heartburn and irritation. Gastroparesis: A condition where the stomach cannot empty itself of food in a normal fashion, often leading to nausea, vomiting, and bloating.
Perilin can help in relieving morning sickness. However, this is not an approved indication for its use. There are other medicines also available to treat morning sickness. Consult a doctor if you need treatment for morning sickness as you should not take any medicine during pregnancy without consulting a doctor.
Perilin can be taken with ranitidine. No drug-drug interactions have been reported between the two. However, interactions can occur. Talk to your doctor before taking the two medicines together.
