It interacts with α2-adrenoceptors, promoting noradrenaline release for antidepressant effects. Dosulepin also binds to serotonin receptors, improving mood, and inhibits histamine receptors, causing sedation. The drug's metabolites exhibit similar actions. Additionally, dosulepin affects muscarinic acetylcholine receptors, leading to dry mouth. Overall, dosulepin's multi-target approach helps alleviate depression symptoms through various neurochemical mechanisms.

How to stop Protheo?

Is Protheo the same as doxepin?
