This medicine is a combination of Rosuvastatin, Aspirin and clopidogrel. Rosuvastatin lowers lipid levels by blocking the enzyme that breaks down cholesterol. It improves the level of good cholesterol in the body by reducing bad cholesterol and triglycerides. Aspirin is an NSAID that has anti-platelet action, preventing platelets from sticking together and preventing the formation of harmful blood clots. Clopidogrel is an antiplatelet drug that prevents blood clot formation by preventing platelet clumping and reduces the chances of heart attacks or strokes. In this way, this medicine prevents the blockage of blood vessels and eliminates the risk of heart attack, stroke, and angina.
Angina is chest pain caused by reduced blood flow to the heart due to constricted blood vessels. It usually happens during physical activity or stress and goes away with rest. A heart attack happens when there is reduced oxygen supply to the heart due to decrease in blood flow which is caused by blockage of blood vessels, ultimately leading to heart muscle damage. Symptoms include chest pain, shortness of breath, and dizziness. A stroke occurs when blood flow to the brain is interrupted, either by a clot or damaged blood vessel, leading to brain damage.
