It is a combination of drugs used for tuberculosis (TB) treatment.
It treats TB by preventing the growth of the bacteria causing the infection and protecting nerves from treatment side effects.
Pyrazinamide, Isoniazid, Rifampicin, and Vitamin B6, combined together to slow TB bacteria growth, prevent their protective covering formation, and inactivate bacterial enzymes, leading to bacterial elimination.
Take as prescribed, preferably on an empty stomach. Do not exceed the recommended dose. If you miss a dose, take it when remembered. Complete the full treatment course, even if symptoms improve. Notify your doctor of any changes in weight.
How Rifacept 3 Kid Tablet works
Rifacept 3 Kid Tablet is a combination of four medicines: Pyrazinamide, isoniazid, rifampicin and vitamin B6 (pyridoxine) which treat tuberculosis (TB). Pyrazinamide works by slowing the growth of TB bacteria. Isoniazid prevents the TB bacteria from forming their own protective covering, while rifampicin works by inactivating a bacterial enzyme (RNA-polymerase) which is required by these bacteria to make essential proteins and to reproduce. Together, they kill the bacteria and eradicate the infection. Vitamin B6 (pyridoxine) is added to prevent nerve damage which may be a side effect of isoniazid.
How To Use Rifacept 3 Kid Tablet
- Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Rifacept 3 Kid Tablet is to be taken empty stomach. Avoid Rifacept 3 Kid Tablet with tyramine-rich food such as cheese, smoked fish, meats and some types of beer.
