Introduction to

  • It contains Cinacalcet, a medication used to treat conditions related to abnormal levels of calcium in the blood, such as secondary hyperparathyroidism in patients with chronic kidney disease on dialysis, hypercalcemia in individuals with parathyroid carcinoma, and primary hyperparathyroidism in certain cases.

Cinacalcet: Cinacalcet works by increasing the sensitivity of the calcium-sensing receptors on the parathyroid gland, which helps lower the levels of parathyroid hormone (PTH). This leads to a reduction in calcium levels in the blood, treating hypercalcemia.

  • Take the tablet by mouth, with or after food, as prescribed by your healthcare provider.
  • Swallow the tablet whole; do not crush or chew it.
  • The dosage will depend on your condition and response to the treatment.

  • Monitor blood calcium levels regularly while on Cinacalcet therapy.
  • Inform your doctor if you have a history of seizures, as low calcium levels may increase seizure risk.
  • Use with caution if you have liver problems, as dosage adjustments may be needed.

  • Lowers elevated blood calcium levels in conditions like hyperparathyroidism and parathyroid cancer.
