How To Use Sotagard 40mg Tablet

  • Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Sotagard 40mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time. Avoid Sotagard 40mg Tablet with dairy products such as milk, cheese, curd, butter, paneer and ice cream.

Yes. Sotagard can cause dizziness as a side effect. If this happens to you, you should sit or lie down until the symptoms pass. However, this is temporary and usually goes away as the treatment continues. Also, you should avoid alcohol while taking it, as it may worsen the dizziness.

How should Sotagard be taken?

Sotagard should be taken exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Usually, it is taken once or twice daily with or without food. It is to be swallowed whole with water and not to be cut or crushed.

What are the warning signals of liver toxicity caused by Sotagard?

The warning signals of liver toxicity include yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice), tiredness, nausea, vomiting, dark-colored urine, pale-colored stools, loss of appetite, stomach pain or high temperature. Contact your doctor immediately if you experience these symptoms.

What kind of vision problems occur with Sotagard?

You may experience blurred vision or see a circle around dazzling light (halos). It may also make your eyes dry or sensitive to light. It can even cause permanent blindness. Therefore, consult your doctor in case you experience any such problems while on Sotagard.
