Staxcef 250mg Tablet contains Cefuroxime (Cephalosporin Antibiotic) which is used in the treatment of Various Bacterial Infections such as bronchitis (infection of the airway tubes leading to the lungs); Lyme disease (an infection that may develop after a person is bitten by a tick); and gonorrhea (a sexually transmitted disease);
- Antibiotics such as cefuroxime will not show any effect in case of flu, colds, or other viral infections.
- Using antibiotics when they are not needed increases your risk of getting an infection later that resists antibiotic treatment.
Cefuroxime is a cephalosporin antibiotic exhibit their activity by retarding the growth of harmful bacteria.
- Follow the dose schedule as mentioned by your doctor.
- It can be taken with or without food but at around the same times every day
- Tell your doctor if you are allergic to cefuroxime; other cephalosporin antibiotics or any other medications.
- If you are taking antacids that contain magnesium or aluminum, take them at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after cefuroxime.
