Telmisartan is a angiotension receptor blocker which block the action of angiotension II results in relaxation and widen the blood vessels. Chlorthalidone is a diuretic known as water pill, that prevents fluid retension by removing excess salt and water from body. Both medicine in combination lowers blood pressure preventing risk of heart attack, stroke and fluid retention.
