How Topovid 2% Gargle works
Povidone iodine inhibits the growth of infection-causing microbes by penetrating micro-organisms and oxidizing essential proteins, nucleotides, and fatty acid resulting to the death of cells.
How To Use Topovid 2% Gargle
- Gargle with the recommended quantity suggested by doctor.
- Take the required dose and rinse the mouth with it for 30s and Spit it out.
- Do not swallow it.

No. Povidone iodine is the stable chemical complex of povidone (polyvinylpyrrolidone i.e. PVP) and elemental iodine. Iodine tincture has iodine and potassium iodide dissolved in ethanol and water. Both the formulations show antiseptic action
Does povidone iodine stain teeth?
Povidone iodine should be used externally. It should not be used on teeth.
