Dexamethasone (a steroid): Blocks the production of chemicals causing redness, swelling, and itching in the eyes. Gatifloxacin (an antibiotic): Kills bacteria in the eyes, preventing their reproduction and repair.

Zigat D Eye Drop is a combination of two medicines: Dexamethasone and Gatifloxacin. Dexamethasone is a steroid which blocks the production of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that make the eye red swollen and itchy. Gatifloxacin is an antibiotic. It kills bacteria in the eye by preventing them from reproducing and repairing themselves. This treats your infection.
